Mahogany and Satinwood Burl DemiluneThis table also has stylized cabriole feet, an applied double bead along the bottom of the apron, and a satinwood burl top panel. A detail of the top is offered below. The mahogany trim and legs are a traditional match for the golden satinwood top. These woods were often combined on the drawer fronts of desks and cabinets and high-end furniture of the Federal period. Satinwood is from Sri Lanka and is prized for its golden bee-wing figure. The satinwood used here is the only instance of satinwood burl I have ever seen. Its sure to be the only satinwood burl table on your block. Lacquer finish.
